S. Indarjit Singh Chhabra founded IJS Electronics in Delhi in 1981 — a Public Address System manufacturer built on a simple belief: make products that serve people when it matters most.
His son, Jaspal Singh Chhabra, joined the company from the ground floor at his father's insistence. Indarjit believed that to run a successful business, one must have hands-on experience of every internal process — and he made sure Jaspal understood the company from the inside out.
In 1988, Jaspal introduced the concept of the red-blue emergency light bar system to India for the first time — under the brand name GRAND. Within months of its launch, the system was installed on the President of India's car. The GRAND brand was born.
In 1996, Jaspal Singh Chhabra assumed full leadership of IJS Electronics. Under his stewardship over the next three decades, the company grew to hold 29 registered design patents, achieve ISO 9001 certification, and supply India's most critical emergency fleets — from the President's vehicle to police forces across every state.
